“Around” is a well-defined, precise and reasoned pictorial series. Mangini demonstrates a very good technique and mastery of drawing well expressed in a variety and heterogeneity of subjects, always enclosed around a circle of strong gravity, able to capture every virtual line. The subjects represented are objects that arouse emotions, memories and thoughts. They are arranged in a circle in a kind of dialogue. The series of drawings on paper creates an ordered, almost sculptural and installation three-dimensional environment. Each group of elements rests on an imaginary plane, without representation of time and space as in a sort of mental balance. Arranging something in a circle allows each single element to interact with the other components of the geometric shape according to a mutual exchange of glances. This observing and being able to be observed creates a constant interaction in an atmosphere of calm, almost a deafening silence in which the entire composition creates a unique and complete form.
